In response to global employment demand for materials expertise, a new postgraduate taught course in Biomedical Device Materials is offered through the Civil Engineering and Materials Science Department, the course has been designed to prepare students for R&D focused employment. Unique features include: • Modules in research challenges in materials science, advanced characterisation and polymer therapeutics amongst others. • Training on state of the art Materials related research equipment • Invited lectures from international experts • Industry linkages through project work and sponsorship • Opportunities to pursue further PhD study

Applicants for a Master’s programme must normally have a first or second class Level 8 honours degree (NFQ or other internationally recognised equivalent) in a physical science or engineering subject(s) or equivalent prior learning that is recognised by the University as meeting this requirement. Applicants must also satisfy the English Language Requirements of the University.
