International Health (MSc)

Course Description

Programme information

This programme introduces international health to students with limited experience in the sector, and provides essential skills for those who intend to pursue a PhD or work in international health.

This programme introduces international health to students who have limited experience in the sector. It emphasises research methods training, which is essential for students who intend to pursue further postgraduate research (PhD), as well as for those who intend to work within international health policy, systems or programmes. For aspiring research students without a strong training in methods, the MSc should be considered an essential preparatory year prior to beginning a PhD.

On completion of the programme you will have:
• Gained an understanding of the key issues and challenges within international health policy, systems and programmes
• Developed research skills essential for a career in international health and which provide a strong grounding for those who intend to pursue further postgraduate studies
• Undertaken a practical field project, which gives first-hand experience of research in an overseas context
• Had the opportunity to attend an optional study tour in Geneva exploring and networking with a range of international organisations.
