This course provides you with the subject specific and transferable skills required for successful research in philosophy.
This one-year, full-time course consists of taught modules and a dissertation. A two year part-time variant is also available.
You will study the core module on analytic philosophy, as well as writing a dissertation under the supervision of a specialist on a topic of your choice (in the School’s areas of expertise).
In addition, you may conduct an independent study on a topic of your choice, and you may take modules in areas including the history and philosophy of science as well as the philosophy of religion.
At the end of the course you will be able to demonstrate in-depth, specialist knowledge and mastery of techniques relevant to the discipline, and you will be prepared to continue your research at the PhD level.
