Our exciting Design courses encourage students from a wide range of design backgrounds to use both creative and analytical approaches to solve design problems. This course fosters and actively encourages collaboration across disciplines and boundaries in order to reflect what happens in industry. Our courses have the flexibility to allow you to develop your particular design interests, whilst broadening your design experience– so widening your employment prospects as a design professional or future academic. The MSc, offered alongside the MA, provides applicants with a technical or scientific background, the opportunity to study design – and promotes both creativity and technological or scientific endeavour. The MA core modules studied are: research methodology; a negotiated project; and a reflective report. The MSc core modules studied are: research methodology; sustainable design; a technical design project; and a reflective report. A 2:2 honours degree or equivalent qualification in a design subject desired. Students from business, computing, psychology and social science are also welcome to apply. Non-standard entry considered. You are required to submit a portfolio of recent practical work.
