• Have you ever wanted to know more about arts and creative enterprises and discover how they really work? • Do you want to stand back and reflect on or theorize your own artistic or creative practice? • Are you interested in getting involved in artistic projects or working in cultural policy? • Do you maybe want to pursue a career in arts management or become a cultural leader?
If so, our MA in Culture, Creativity & Entrepreneurship is the right postgraduate programme for you.
Creative work is recognized by governments around the world as a crucial driver of growth and development and creative entrepreneurs are changing the face of contemporary cultures and economies on an increasingly global scale. This one year taught Masters programme provides the perfect opportunity for you to understand more about these transformations and at the same time develop your own creative practice or management interests.
Our core modules provide an academic grounding in the cultural and creative industries, focussing in depth on arts management, cultural policy, creative entrepreneurship and the role of culture in development. You will benefit from privileged access to world-leading academics and have regular opportunities to learn first-hand from the School’s cultural and creative partners. Specialist optional modules will provide opportunities for you to work with external organisations on live projects and a final, large-scale research project will allow you to develop these insights in a way tailored to your own experience, interests and ambitions.
The School of Performance and Cultural Industries is housed in a purpose-built performance centre in the heart of the University of Leeds campus. You will study in parallel with other MA students in performance, applied theatre and creative writing, which will enable you to explore other disciplines and engage with a range of perspectives. The School is also part of a faculty of creative disciplines, including music, fine art, cultural studies, design communications and media, as well as having many connections with local and national arts and cultural organizations.
