This master level course is designed to enable chemistry graduates to explore advanced chemistry topics specializing in biological chemistry. In semester one, you take a module in ‘Advanced Organic Chemistry’ together with ‘Advanced Analytical Chemistry’ designed to give a broad and balanced understanding of modern chemistry. You will also learn how to use key research tools to plan your chosen research project . In semester two, you develop a specialist knowledge through modules in Biological Macromolecules and Advanced Topics in Molecular Medicine . Semester three is spent on an advanced biological chemistry research project culminating in a Masters level thesis.
A first or second class BSc honours degree, or equivalent, in chemistry or a related subject
