Human Resource Development PgDip

Course Description

The Postgraduate Diploma in HRD course has been approved by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development CIPD to provide you with the knowledge and skills required for Chartered Membership of CIPD and to meet the advanced level standards on the CIPD HR profession map.

This is a course designed to enable you to develop the skills and potential of a Human Resource (HR) professional. You will have the opportunity to achieve two valuable and essential qualifications: the Postgraduate Diploma and Chartered Membership of CIPD. You will graduate with an enhanced personal professional profile and greater self-confidence and awareness.

The course will help you to identify gaps in your knowledge and through a process of independent thinking, self-appraisal and a support network of peers and teaching staff on the course, it transform what you do and how you do it. The Postgraduate Diploma is relevant to practitioners from the public, private or not-for-profit sectors.

The course will help improve your professional recognition and offer opportunities for career development. It explores the latest issues in HR and is part of a journey of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) that will enhance your professional practice and value to your employer through work-based learning and research.

Successful completion of this course provides the knowledge and skills required to enable you to apply for Chartered Membership of CIPD (Chartered MCIPD) once you have sufficient organisational experience.

We are a CIPD approved centre and our links with the West Yorkshire branch CIPD offer additional networking, advice, mentoring and updates from the profession. Many Huddersfield CIPD branch events are held annually creating opportunities to network with other local HR professionals.

Entry Requirements

Entry qualifications will normally include a first degree or certificate in Personnel, HR or Training Practice and ideally in excess of 2 years relevant HR experience.Applicants with a significant amount of HR experience but no formal qualifications may also be considered.
