Financial Economics MSc


Course Description

This course is ideal if you aspire to a career in the financial services sector or a role in industry which requires advanced economic analysis skills. During your course, you will have the option to develop your knowledge and understanding of core economic theories and principles and apply these to the financial services setting. We aim to help you develop your analytical skills through the study of econometrics and deepen your understanding of the financial services sector.

Entry Requirements

A good undergraduate degree is required (normally a 2.2 or above or its international equivalent). It is not necessary to have a first degree in Economics, Business Economics or Financial Economics. However, through the application process you must demonstrate prior study at Bachelors level of either Economics or a quantitative subject (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Accountancy, Finance). As many of the concepts and analyses on this course involve mathematical techniques you are expected to have a working knowledge of calculus and should know the basics of vectors and matrices, probability and statistics.
