This course is designed to enable you to both enhance your knowledge and understanding of marketing and equip you with the necessary skills to thrive in a career in marketing. The course forms the cornerstone of the Marketing MSc suite and allows a broad approach with a choice of option modules.
You will find that our course is theoretically robust with an emphasis on applied critical thinking and analysis. We seek to maximise your opportunity to put marketing theory into practice through the use of live case studies, an on-line marketing simulation and by encouraging you to enter marketing competitions such as the annual Institute of Direct & Digital Marketing (IDM) competition. As such, the focus of this course is the development of applied marketing leaders of tomorrow.

I think that the Marketing MSc at Huddersfield is really well balanced. During the first term, we had several group sessions as part of the modules which helped me to meet different people in the class and practice my English. The second term is more academic, with a focus on varied research. The topics of our coursework are really interesting and often linked to the news, encouraging you to be committed to applying your research to relevant hot topics.
The tutors are really approachable and give interesting lessons with an emphasis on participation. Lectures are conducted by skilled lecturers and the link between theory and practice is promoted throughout. The tutors know a lot about their subject so they always have a way to help you when you are stuck.
A good first degree (2:2 or above or equivalent) in any subject from a UK, EC or international institution. Other qualifications and experience will be considered on an individual basis. If English is not your first language, you are expected to demonstrate English language ability at a level equivalent to IELTs 6.0 before commencing your studies.
