Philosophy and Religious Thought (PGCert, PGDip, MA)

About This Masters Degree

Course Description

The course's primary focus is on the way in which religious traditions represent strands of philosophical thought and its development. A major concern is the interplay between secular philosophy and religious reflection and analysis. The balance of provision will enable you to develop your philosophical skills and understanding. A foundational feature of the course will be its engagement with you via the use of primary texts and a focus on developing you as a sophisticated reader and writer. This is partnered with an ongoing endeavour of promoting philosophy as transformational, as practical and as a living tradition of engagement with the wider world, an underlying ethos to which the teaching team are committed.
