About the course

The Postgraduate Diploma Counselling Children and Young People was the first postgraduate course of its kind. It incorporates the BACP Counselling Young People training curriculum (11- 18 years) and is designed for qualified Counsellors and Psychotherapists who want to continue their professional development and enhance their career prospects with in-depth training in counselling children and young people.

It offers a unique blend of knowledge and skills practice, providing a pathway to many exciting opportunities within the field of therapeutic work with young people. It can be used as a stand-alone qualification or be part of a two year masters in Counselling Children and Young People.

Entry Requirements

Counselling qualification at diploma level as well as post qualifying counselling experience and/or experience of working with young people.
You must be a registered member of an appropriate professional body, such as the BACP or equivalent (Please upload evidence of this)
A minimum of 100 supervised hours of counselling practice (Please upload evidence of this)
Two references* uploaded with your application.
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.
