Our MSc Financial Econometrics builds on the strengths of our Department of Economics and Essex Business School in a unique way, by combining a practical approach to finance with a strong theoretical approach in econometrics. This mix of approaches is designed to make a successful graduate of this course very attractive to a variety of financial institutions, from investment banks and insurance companies to central banks and research departments.
Alongside our focus on financial econometrics, we provide a wide choice of optional modules, and a dissertation, allowing you to focus on topics of interest to you and your future plans. This course provides essential postgraduate skills that help you pursue a successful career in applied or quantitative finance, or undertake further research.
