PG Diploma - Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting and School Nursing)


Course Description

If you want to make a difference to health care in your community, this programme will equip you with the specialist skills in the area of health visiting or school nursing.

This modular course has been specifically designed to meet the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) requirements of specialist community public health nurses.

You will build your knowledge and share experiences with your peer group. This a major element in the development of specialist community public health nurses who are able to practice at a high-level, taking responsibility for complex decisions within a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency environment.

The course team have a wealth of experience in public health nursing. Guest lecturers from practice are used across all modules to enhance the learning experience.

If you are an experienced, highly motivated nurse or mid-wife seeking to develop your career in public health nursing within the community, this programme will equip you with the skills required to carry out public health nursing within the home and school setting.

Stage one (PGDip)

Registered on the appropriate part of the NMC Professional register, with a relevant first degree in a subject relating to nursing or specialist community public health nursing and two years relevant experience.You will also
