This course will analyse and evaluate psychotherapeutic approaches, theories and practice relating to the work of the mental health practitioner.
A collaboration between West London Mental Health NHS Trust and Buckinghamshire New University, the course provides the conceptual tools, their application to clinical work, a specialised group experience and a research dissertation to equip participants to orient themselves to the complex reality of their roles in mental health organizations.
By focusing on individual, group and institutional dynamics, this training is specifically designed to explore the preconditions for maintaining boundaries, ensuring relational security and delivering coherent, effective treatment interventions.
The teaching staff are composed of senior professioanls in the field, all of whom are currently working in NHS settings and also have several years teaching experience.
On successful completion of year one, students will be awarded Foundation Course equivalency at the Institute of Group Analysis (IGA). Msc graduates qould be eligible to apply for British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) accreditation.

We welcome applications from Psychiatrists, psychologiest, nurses, social works, occupational theraprist and other mental health professionals.Upon submission all applicants will be invited to meet with a member of staff and a respresentative of Bucks New University to discuss the potential application of the ocurse to your work setitng and role.The course will be one day per week at West London Mental Health Trust.
