This specialised course will develop your understanding of planning and development, tourist behaviour, marketing, finance and strategy in the tourism industry, including festivals, heritage sites, urban cities and resorts.
You will have the opportunity to get engage in consultancy work and projects with a variety of tourism businesses and organisations such as Visit Peak District and Derbyshire Destination Marketing, Chatsworth House, Malta Tourism Authority, New Zealand Tourism and Research Institute (NZTRI), Botswana Tourism Authority, Novotel Hotels International and the Merlin entertainment group.
The flexible nature of this course also means you can study full or part-time. There is an e-learning option to study whilst in employment and if you study full-time, you can also undertake a placement in the UK or abroad.
An undergraduate degree (2:2 or above) or equivalent qualification from a British or overseas institution. All subjects are considered but possession of degrees or relevant work experience in related subjects will be advantageous. A significant portfolio of work at appropriate level or relevant professional qualifications is also desirable.International students should have the above or an international equivalent. If English is not your first language, you will need to hold IELTS 6 or above.
