SKE Subject Knowledge Enhancement: Physics (36 weeks)

Course Description

Starting work as a physics teacher at secondary school? Boost your subject knowledge by taking our course! We're perfect for those with the potential to teach high school physics, but who do not have the academic qualifications to back up their expertise. We are happy to help students from a variety of backgrounds and degrees - as long as you've got the drive to improve your knowledge, we'll make sure you're in the right position to start teaching.

Course outline

You'll attend a series of face-to-face sessions for the first 14 weeks, with some supported independent study. The rest of the course will be completed online, allowing you to complete your SKE work as you engage in PGCE studies. This course ends in late December so you can embed your subject knowledge in your classroom practice. It's important to show you have the necessary effort and commitment required to succeed.

Graduate destinations

This course enables you to build your subject knowledge in order to train to teach secondary science with a physics specialism. There are excellent job opportunities in this subject due to a national shortage of teachers in this subject.

Visit the SKE Subject Knowledge Enhancement: Physics (36 weeks) page on the University of Cumbria website for more details!
