Teaching mathematics at a secondary school is a challenging and rewarding career, but without the right qualifications, it can be hard to get involved. Maybe you've studies some maths for your degree and gained an interest, or perhaps you only have an A level in maths. If you don't have the right level of subject knowledge, then our course is perfect for you! We'll help you prove your potential as a teacher by putting you in the right place to start your PGCE, developing your expertise to show you're ready to teach.
You'll attend a series of face-to-face sessions for the first 14 weeks, with some supported independent study. The rest of the course will be completed online, allowing you to complete your SKE work as you engage in PGCE studies. This course ends in late December so you can embed your subject knowledge in your classroom practice. It's important to show you have the necessary effort and commitment required to succeed.
This course enables you to build your subject knowledge in order to train to teach secondary mathematics. There are excellent job opportunities in this subject due to there being a national shortage of teachers.
