Theology, Media and Communication

Course Description

This ground-breaking, flexible programme enables you to reflect theologically and ethically on the relationship between religion and contemporary communications media. Designed in cooperation with faith-based media professionals, it is suitable for media professionals interested in enhancing their religious literacy, or those based in churches or other faith-based organisations wishing to learn more about the role of media in a global society.

You will study a range of taught modules, delivered by distance learning with face-to-face tutorial support.

By enrolling on this programme you will join a flourishing postgraduate community in the department of Theology and Religious Studies and have the opportunity to attend Departmental Research Seminars and take part in MA Symposia and our Postgraduate Training programme.

Applications are considered for September entry.

For further information regarding our Postgraduate Taster Days please visit:

Visit the Theology, Media and Communication page on the University of Chester website for more details!

Entry Requirements

Typically, the minumum entry requirement is a 2:1 honours degere in a relevant discipline, not necessarily Theology or Religious Studies.
