Research Methodologies and Design (MD4035) will aim to enable you to critically assess available research methodologies; provide you with a conceptual grounding with respect to the choice of a methodology or research approach, and will enable you to critically assess the suitability and relative merits of qualitative and quantitative methods. In addition you will have the opportunity to critically examine the different modes of data collection with respect to practical issues.
Qualitative Research Methods (MD4036) will aim to introduce you to the nature and practice of qualitative research and will give you the capacity to make informed judgements as to the value of qualitative approaches to research.
Analysing Quantitative Research Data (MG4215) will aim to provide you with a framework for the analytical methodologies for handling data analysis; to provide you with the tools and technical skills to enable you to apply a range of data analysis methodologies; to enable you to make intelligent reports of the results of a statistical analysis to target audiences with diverse levels of numerate/statistical understanding, and to provide a sufficient base you to undertake more complex statistical analyses.
UK honours degree or its equivalent; or a HND/HNC/Foundation Degree; or NVQ Level 4; or an equivalent professional qualification; or business, managerial, professional or technical experience deemed to be appropriate for this programme of study.
