During the course students will develop in depth projects in the context of theoretical, historical and cultural debates. Based in UCLan’s brand new high tech Media Factory, students will be using state-of-the-art facilities, highly specialised equipment and purpose built spaces. Their professional development will be supported by the wealth of enterprise and research opportunities available in the Media factory and be further supported by liaison with industry professionals. Particularly interesting are links with production company’s Made Up North producer Mike Knowles, Bafta award winning producer Diarmid Scrimshaw of Warp Film (This is England, Dead Man’s Shoes), and festival director John Wojowski of Kino Film Festival Manchester. By the end of the course students will be able to produce challenging work for professional output. The course is delivered through a variety of methods including one-to-one tutorial guidance, workshops and seminars, which develop critical and theoretical approaches to film production practices.
