MA Photography

Course Description

MA Photography benefits from our first class facilities and is designed for those wishing to pursue a career in: photojournalism, documentary photography, editorial photography or fine art. You will explore three key aspects of photography: methodologies, critical studies, and context. Central to the course philosophy will be the brining together of theory and practice. Modules will introduce you to a series of concepts you will be encouraged to analyse and you will develop an awareness of the issues and expectations of the area of industry you intend on working in. You will be introduced to a range of methodologies employed by photographers and will be encouraged to adopt aspects of these within your own practice. Guest lectures by practitioners, editors, curators etc will help you build links with people working in industry. In the past our students have gone on placements with organisations such as V&A, Vogue, Guardian, Ilford, and Rankin.
