The MSc/PG Dip in Cosmetic Dentistry is aimed at providing clinicians with an understanding of managerial, clinical and research issues that will develop restorative and cosmetic dentistry within dental practice, and with the complementary skills required to contribute to and influence development and evaluation of dental practice. It offers a mix of theoretical and practical skills appropriate to modern dental care delivery and the development of restorative and cosmetic dentistry. The programme includes a combination of lectures, seminars, workshops, laboratory work, hands-on-practicals, blended learning and clinical practice. All course work assignments are directly related to clinical practice and personal development and will incorporate case studies and case presentations, essays and research proposals. A portfolio of clinical experience and practice is developed throughout the course. There are also essay tests throughout the programme.
Be a qualified as a British Dental Surgeon (or equivalent) and have a licence to practise dentistry. Be in professional practice for a minimum of 2 years or have been involved in a hospital appointment. Be registered with the General Dental Council (or equivalent). Be registered with a defence union. Posess indemnity insurance cover at an appropriate level. Posess a current certificate of immunisation against communicable disease (Hepatitis B).
