Module Description This module aims to develop a deeper understanding of the biochemical and/or physiological adaptation processes that occur during childbearing. Students are expected to critically evaluate their understanding of how exercise and nutrition impacts on the childbearing process. At the end of the module students will be able to: • Critically discuss and evaluate the concept of the healthy diet in the context of childbearing and lactation • Have a critical awareness of exercise physiology in relation to physiological changes/responses in pregnancy and the impact of exercise • Critically evaluate the benefits and hazards of exercise and nutrition
