The International Retail Management MSc has been developed in collaboration with industry professionals in response to the global demand for international retail expertise. The programme covers both theoretical and practical approaches to international retailing including budgeting, problem solving, consultancy and team management.
From the very start of the course students have the opportunity to learn from retail professionals, explore different types of retail environments and meet practicing managers. Guest speakers are regularly invited to discuss curriculum topics, giving students professional insights into contemporary issues.
Moving to masters (induction); consumer psychology and customer experience, accounting for managers; managing organisational behaviour; retail marketing and branding; retail buying and logistics; business research methods; and retail strategy and internationalisation. Students also choose one option from: retail technology; innovation and creativity or retail consultancy.
Students choose between undertaking a research project or a work placement.
Individual offers may vary. Normally a good honours degree or equivalent is required. Work experience is useful but not essential. Applicants with non-standard entry qualifications will be considered. If you are unsure whether you meet the entry requirements then please contact us. In order to benefit from, contribute to and enjoy the course, a good command of spoken and written English language is required. If English is not your first language, you will need English language proficiency equivalent to an overall IELTS score of at least 6.5, with 6 in the written test.
