Psychology (Msc / PGDip)

Course Description

If you already have at least 60 credits in psychology, this course will allow you to 'convert' your degree into a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology.

This award confers eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society for those seeking a change in direction and wanting to pursue a professional career in Psychology.

You will examine all of the major areas in psychology - as required by the British Psychological Society.

You will learn how psychologists work and will acquire knowledge and skills that will enable you to evaluate the claims of other researchers.

You will explore the possible links between biology and behaviour and become familiar with issues concerning cognitive science and neuropsychology.

You will also study attitudes and behaviour, attribution theory and critical social psychology.

You will also consider development across the lifespan, examine the relationship between language, thinking and cognition, and look at the theories of personality and the basis of individual differences in personality and intelligence.
