Executive MBA

Course Description

This programme is targeted at experienced managers in employment across a range of industries and sectors who want to boost their career prospects and enhance their thinking about management practice. The part-time delivery mode is designed to be as flexible as possible to meet the needs of busy professionals juggling work and other commitments with study. The programme can be completed in a minimum of two and a half years and a maximum of six.

The eight taught modules and dissertation are taken in a minimum of two and a half years and a maximum of six. Each taught module is delivered in an intensive six day block spread over two consecutive long weekends – Friday to Sunday. Modules are offered at four points during the academic year – October, January, April and July.

The programme will equip graduates to move into more senior management positions either in their own organization or elsewhere.

Simon Evans Scholarship - 10 Awards

Simon Evans, an alumnus of Birmingham Business School, has very kindly made funds available for exceptional students to gain access onto marketing courses for 2011 entry. 10 scholarships of £5000 towards your tuition fees are available. A Scholarship Panel will meet periodically over the Summer to review applications, and interview applicants if considered necessary, and will notify applicants of the outcome as soon as possible. The deadline for all applications is 1 August. Application Procedure

Having received an offer you will need to submit a 500-word Personal Statement addressing the issues noted below. Awards will be made mainly on academic merit and the quality of the Personal Statement, but the Scholarship Panel may also invite applicants for interview. Your Personal Statement should cover: (1) A review of your background (qualifications, training, relevant experience - even if only part-time) and how this links to your decision to study marketing (2) A review of the reasons you were attracted to the particular programme you have chosen (3) A review of your career aspirations (where you see yourself heading and why)
