About the course

The CRELLA MPhil/PhD is based on your research proposal and is a self-directed programme fully supported by your supervisory team and the Research Graduate School.

CRELLA welcomes applications in all language assessment areas, including:

-Academic literacy and language
-Aligning tests to frameworks such as the CEFR
-Assessing language skills across proficiency spectrum
-Cognitive processing in language tests
-Computer technologies in language learning and assessment
-Developing assessment literacy among test stakeholders
-Formative assessment and assessment for learning
-The construct(s) of language proficiency
-Washback and the use and impacts of language tests and assessments

Entry Requirements

Students would normally hold a Master's degree in language testing or in a related discipline, or have equivalent advanced professional experience. Successful CRELLA applicants normally have a minimum flat profile of 7.0 in the IELTS test, or equivalent.
