The MSc programme in Environmental Sciences is one of five MSc track in Chemistry offered by the Universiteit van Amsterdam.
The Netherlands is known for its pioneering role in environmental sciences, environmental risk assessment and sustainability concepts. In the field of environmental chemistry, specific analytical methods are used to measure the concentration of contaminants in biotic and/or abiotic environments and to determine e.g. their degradation rate and partition processes. Examples include: sorption to sediment macromolecules, tritrophic interactions between plants and insects, degradation by microorganisms, metabolism in higher organisms.
