Who is the ME Electrical Energy Engineering for? The ME programme is targeted at mathematically strong engineering students who are interested in power systems analysis and renewables integration, and who are seeking a professional career in the power system and smart grid sectors.

The 2 year programme comprises subject areas relating to power system analysis & design, power electronics applications & design, sustainable power systems, smart grid communication architectures and electricity market operations, in addition to a major research project and a professional work experience opportunity.
How will I benefit? * You will have gained a strong educational foundation in power systems and power electronics analysis & design, renewable energy sources and smart grid applications. * You will undertake a major research project, gaining in-depth knowledge of a specialist area, and potentially interacting with relevant industry. * You will complete professional work experience with an electrical utility, or relevant manufacturer / research institution, offering you the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills, and become involved in real-world projects. * You will complete a programme designed to provide an engineering qualification fully compliant with the Masters level accreditation requirements of Engineers Ireland.
