The Graduate Diploma in Cancer Nursing is aimed at advancing the registered nurse’s repertoire of knowledge and skills for professional practice in the care of adults with cancer. Possessing this enhanced level of expertise will enable you to become a valuable member of the multidisciplinary team specialising in the care of adults with cancer. Particular emphasis is placed on recent national and international research findings and/or evidence-based guidelines and recommendations aimed at ensuring optimal outcomes for patients with cancer. Hold a primary degree in Nursing (or equivalent in related discipline)/APEL consideration if no degree.Be entered onto the appropriate division of the Nurses Register maintained by An Bord Altranais (be registered as an RGN)Have at least one year’s experience in adult cancer nursing at time of attending the first day of class in semester one.Candidates must be employed in an oncology unit or related cancer care setting prior to commencing the course and for the duration of the course.
