Graduate Certificate in Adult Cancer Nursing


Course Description

The Graduate Certificate in Adult Cancer Nursing is aimed at advancing the registered nurse’s repertoire of knowledge and skills for professional practice in the care of adults with cancer.

A Graduate Certificate in Adult Cancer Nursing will enhance your existing knowledge and skills in caring for adults with cancer. This enhanced level of expertise will enable you to become a valuable member of the multidisciplinary team specialising in cancer care.
Particular emphasis is placed on recent national and international research findings and/or evidence-based guidelines and recommendations aimed at ensuring optimal outcomes for adults with cancer.

Entry Requirements

Hold a primary degree in Nursing or equivalent. Be entered onto the appropriate division of the Nurses Register maintained by An Bord Altranais (be registered as an RGN) Hold a Graduate Diploma in another specialist area of nursing or have obtained 30 ECT (credits) at Level 9 Have at least one year’s experience in adult cancer nursing at time of attending the first day of class in Semester 1. • Candidates must be employed in an Adult oncology unit or related cancer care setting prior to commencing the course and for the duration of the course.
