Professional Certificate (Advanced Health Assessment)

Course Description

This programme is aimed at educationally preparing nurses to expand knowledge and skills required to undertake a comprehensive health history and perform a complete advanced physical assessment.

We aim to give you the advanced theoretical knowledge and clinical skills to carry out a complete health assessment on patients. You will learn how to undertake a comprehensive health history and perform an advanced physical assessment in a laboratory setting and you can then apply these advanced skills in clinical practice. Emphasis on communication skills and clinical decision making is a central component of the module.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must:Be registered as professional nurses or midwives on a live register. Have a primary degree or higher in nursing or a related subject, or hold an equivalent qualification. Have a minimum of five year post-registration experience. Provide evidence of continuing professional development.
