Course Description

Applications for a PhD will be considered in any area of sociology in which we can provide appropriate supervision particularly within our three main research themes:

* Culture, Globalisation and Migration,
* Family, Health and the Life Course,
* Institutions, Civil Society and the Public Sphere.

New taught components provide greater structure and professional training, however emphasis is on students to complete a major, independent piece of research that makes significant contribution to sociological knowledge.

This is a 270 credit programme (Thesis - 240 credits / Coursework - 30 credits).

Some limited funding.
