Orthodontics is a dental speciality that requires specific training. The European Union's Erasmus Project established the common three-year curriculum that must be completed when teaching orthodontics as a postgraduate speciality.
The Universitat Internacional de Catalunya has offered since 1999 a Masters in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics that adheres to the Erasmus Project guidelines established by the European Orthodontic Society and allows participants to acquire the theoretical and practical training required to correctly undertake this speciality.
Theoretical training is mainly based around a system of tutorials, seminars and theoretical classes that will be led or presented by selected teaching staff. Students are expected to attend and participate in these activities and to perform the corresponding exercises concerning the various topics assigned to them.
