Masters in Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) Periodontology


Course Description

More than ever, patients are understanding the importance of maintaining their oral health, and are investing considerable effort and expense in complex restorative procedures. As a result, the demand for this expertise is in great demand.

The MClinDent Periodontology is a comprehensive programme that covers the latest periodontal theories and treatment protocols, instilling you with the knowledge and indispensable skills to treat patients confidently. Particular focus is given to developing clinical techniques in Implantology, and providing supervised clinical training in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of periodontaly compromised patients, along with the importance of effective maintenance protocols. You will also work with colleagues from other programmes to discuss management of patient cases with a multidisciplinary approach and sound judgement based on evidence.

Entry Requirements

For UK applicants:•Undergraduate qualification in Dentistry and•Completion of at least one year in clinical practice and•Current General Dental Council (GDC) practising certificateFor overseas applicants:•Undergraduate qualification in Dentistry and•Completion of at least one year in clinical practice and•Letter of good standing or equivalent from an appropriate regulatory dental body and•IELTS score of 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in each component)•Prior to commencing clinical placement: ◦Current satisfactory immunization status and◦Current evidence of a satisfactory CRB check and◦Current evidence of malpractice indemnity insurance
