Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology (DHealth Psy)


Course Description

The Professional Doctorate Programme offers teaching and learning opportunities in health psychology to enable students to demonstrate
D-level competencies in the following areas: research, consultancy/contract research, aspects of professional practice, teaching, and a choice of options. It aims to equip students for British Psychological Society Chartered Health Psychologist status. The course was accredited by the BPS as Stage 2 training in 2003. In the BPS accreditation meeting the course was commended for the level of student satisfaction with the programme and the level of physical resources underpinning the programme.

The Merit scholarships will be awarded automatically on application to the University as follows:Applicants with results equivalent to UK First Class degree: £2,000
Applicants with results equivalent to UK 2:1 degree: £1,500
Applicants with results equivalent to UK 2.:2 degree: £1,000

Entry Requirements

Students need to have completed Stage 1 training in health psychology with Merit or above (i.e. MSc Health Psychology or Stage 1 Examination).
