For Graphic Designers for Health Care, the Graduate Certificate award constitutes evidence that you have undertaken this professional development course and that you have achieved all of its learning outcomes. It bears witness to the fact that you have learned, and can practise, key professional skills and that you have acquired and critically reflected on a professionally relevant body of knowledge.
The Postgraduate Certificates will provide evidence that you have acquired all of the learning outcomes associated with the Graduate Certificate awards and that you have given additional attention to the more academic, theoretical issues in medical illustration, taking a more questioning, critical and analytical approach to theories, practicebased issues and case studies. This award could also qualify you to progress to a Postgraduate Diploma and, eventually, a Masters qualification if the demand justifies the development of these further awards by the university.
This award is based on learning through work-based assignments, so it is really only suitable for those who are employed in a healthcare environment that gives them access to the clinical situations, specialist equipment and workplace supervisors necessary for the successful completion of those assignments.
