About This Masters Degree
Why Study MA Graphic Communication Online?
Building on your existing qualifications and experience, studying for a master's degree can give you an edge over other graphic designers in a highly competitive market. You will be supported in developing your existing practice towards gaining advanced knowledge of the graphic design industry, and you will have the opportunity to build an outstanding portfolio.
You will be enrolled on our online Postgraduate Art and Design programme, specialising in Graphic Communication. You will develop your project proposal in preparation for your Major Study in Graphic Communication through a series of practice modules supported by modules covering research and the creative industries. The award pathway leads to an MA degree certificate in Graphic Communication.
What does the Course Involve?
On the MA Graphic Communication course you will develop a theoretical, commercial and philosophical understanding of the graphic design industry and gain an awareness of the issues that arise from graphic communication. These include the historical, social, cultural, aesthetic, technological, ethical and global themes from the perspective of contemporary graphic design practice.
In your practical work, you will be encouraged to be open and curious and to experiment with your own visual voice by engaging intellectually with the design process. You will develop your portfolio, and will be encouraged to explore a varied range of media appropriate to your own individual practice. You will develop appropriate methods of representation and presentation in order to develop an ambitious, cohesive body of work.
