This course is aimed at those who are caring for older people in a care setting. The course will reflect local, national and international agendas and your assignment work will focus on developing your practice.
The course can be accessed at degree or masters level, with the assignment expectations different for each level. The aim is to improve service and care delivery for the growing population aged 65 years and over.
Study is part-time and units can also be accessed individually as part of our CPD flexible framework. Students can exit with one of the following awards: MA Care of Older People; Post Graduate Diploma in the Care of Older People; Post Graduate Certificate in Care of Older People, or BA (Hons) Care of Older People.
This course is designed for qualified health and social care professionals who have already studied to Degree level and wish to expand your sphere of practice to include new elements within your professional role.You must also be engaged in practice for normally a minimum of 20 hours per week. If English is not your first language, you will need to provide evidence that you can understand English to a satisfactory level. English language requirements, for this course are normally IELTS (Academic) 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component or equivalent.
