This course will prepare you for registration as a midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) and to gain a professional qualification.
You can choose your study base to be in Bournemouth or Portsmouth for this course. For September we will be recruiting to Bournemouth only and for February we will be recruiting to Portsmouth only.
Throughout the course you will become a proficient and reflective practitioner of midwifery who is able to base their practice on research, holistic care and commitment to lifelong learning. Theory and practice are integrated throughout, and experience is gained in both community and hospital settings, working in partnership with mothers and midwives.
When on placement you will experience the full 24 hour shift pattern to include 12-13 hour shifts, weekends and night shifts.

Applicants will normally have a minimum of 2:2, our preferred subjects are Psychology, Human biology/ anatomy, physiology, sociology, social policy, health studies or social studies. This course requires a minimum of 4 GCSEs (grades A*-C) including Maths and English or appropriate Key Skills Level 2. A Science subject is preferred.
