The Master in Education School Administration program prepares teachers for the residency principal's certificate. A student shall complete at least 45 credits in an approved Course of Study to be developed in consultation with the graduate advisor. This program provides options for the various school levels, but does not necessarily qualify the student for the Residency Principal's Certificate, which requires that an applicant complete an application and be accepted to the Administrator Certification Program and complete the required coursework in addition to a 12 credit, year long internship.
Curriculum The M.Ed. School Administration program is 45 credit hour program that consists of 9 Education Administration core courses, two Educational Foundations courses (to include EDF 510 Educational Research), and Master's thesis or project. The M.Ed. School Administration program is offered fully online.
Common Performance Task Guide The Common Performance Task Guide was created by WCEAP and aligned with Standard 5 to assist candidates with preparation for the residency certificate.
Faculty and Staff The M.Ed. School Administration faculty is comprised of professors from education administration backgrounds who can provide first-hand experience education.
“CWU is located in an ideal location, its right in the middle of WA and within driving distance of any city in WA which makes it easier to take vacations. CWU has small classes with less than 30 students in each class, this encourages a close student-instructor relationship which has been very helpful to me especially during my freshman year when I was trying to get used to the way of life here. CWU offers amazing tuition prices and waivers for international students to enable them to concentrate on school and not have to worry about their financials all the time. The international community here at CWU is very supportive of international students and the advisors are always looking out for the students by exploring new ways to improve the services they already offer.”
