[[Master of Science in Computer Science & Software Engineering]] The Master of Science in Computer Science and Software Engineering at UW Bothell couples theoretical computing concepts with real-world problems, helping students develop the breadth of skills necessary to succeed in today’s competitive software profession. The degree is designed to accommodate the needs of working professionals.

The MSCSSE degree is designed to accommodate the needs of working professionals. Enrollment is either part-time or full-time, with courses meeting in the evening two or three times a week. Most students complete the program in just over two years.
[[Curriculum]] All students begin the MSCSSE degree by taking three common core courses required for the degree. Each course covers a specific philosophy that is a trademark of the MSCSSE program: Development, Design and Research. Building from these foundational courses, students will complete a minimum of 20 credits of electives in a variety of topics. MS CSSE students will complete their degree requirements with a 10 credit project or thesis.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field. Applicants should have completed at least the following undergraduate courses: data structures, algorithms, computer systems, and software engineering or have obtained experience in these areas professionally.
