This specialist pathway will help you to develop an understanding of finance within organisations, as well as develop knowledge of key elements of corporate financial management. There is a particular focus on international capital markets and international banking, preparing you for employment in international contexts where the management of capital in mixed financial economies is complex and therefore risky.
This course will provide you with a thorough understanding of the principals of management and finance, in an international context. You will study a core range of stimulating modules and also have the chance to focus in more detail on areas that interest you.
Recent core modules have covered topics including management research methods, international financial management, human resource management, the international economic environment, and marketing and international capital markets and banking. Optional modules cover a diverse range of topics, which might include project management or business ethics.
The course attracts graduates from a wide range of countries, thus making for an excellent cross-cultural mix in learning and teaching sessions. All students on the course are registered as affiliate members of the Chartered Management Institute.
The course is delivered by highly qualified teaching staff with practical experience of financial management and research, and consultancy expertise in credit, banking and financial services.

During this course you will develop your understanding of the theory and practice of different research methods, both quantitative and qualitative, in business. You will learn to assess how the external business environment will affect your business, and develop strategies for responding to this.
You will complete an investment portfolio exercise which will help you develop your knowledge of international finance, and an insight into the challenges facing bankers, policy makers, regulators and investors in financial markets. You will cover the key theories that underpin financial decisions in an international business.
The business environment is very much international these days, which makes global and inter cultural working a reality. Businesses need to be effective at managing people from an international perspective, and during this course you will look at organisational behaviour and human resources management with a focus on the continuous change and the increasing globalisation of business and management practice.
As an MSc student, you will also be required to complete a dissertation which will allow you to apply all the understanding, knowledge, analytical and conceptual tools that you have gained from your modules.
