MEd (Master of Education) (General) Curriculum and Assessment


Course Description

As a student in the Master of Education (General) study theme in Curriculum and Assessment, you will become a leader in:

» enacting curriculum and assessing learning
» harnessing innovations in curriculum theory for the benefit of your classrooms, schools, and school districts
» demonstrating how to use classroom assessments to improve student learning, advance teaching, and develop ethical programming.

Course detail

Important features of this program include:

• an emphasis on providing significant opportunities to integrate local issues into class
activities, discussion and assignments
• flexible exit requirements (capstone, project, or thesis)
• a blended-delivery model which includes online courses in fall and spring semesters, as well as face-to-face courses in July. On-campus accommodation is available.

To ensure success in academic study, all applicants, regardless of citizenship or country of origin, must meet the English Language Proficiency requirement through recognized study or a valid standardized test score.

The Master of Education program does not lead to teacher certification.

Entry Requirements

Minimum grade point average (GPA). Evidence of academic ability and promise (normally a GPA of 3.00 on the most recent 20 university courses). A University of Lethbridge baccalaureate degree or its academic equivalent from another recognized degree-granting institution. Approximately two years of successful teaching or other relevant educational experience.
