The MA in Human Resource Management is designed to develop and consolidate your knowledge and understanding of HRM. It is designed to expose you to current thinking and practice across a wide range of HRM disciplines.
You will build on your existing understanding of management and organisation in a way that allows you to relate your experience to contemporary management ideas and practice within a global context.
In particular, the purpose of the programme is to provide you with a critical and detailed understanding of the role of HRM in organisations and an advanced understanding of the management of HRM within a global context.
You will have the opportunity to focus on specialist areas of HRM, including employee relations, learning and development and reward management.
Comprises an induction, eight modules and a dissertation.
1. Managing the Human Resource 2. Managing Change in Organisations 3. Planning Human Resource 4. Employee Relations 5. Learning and Development 6. Financial Management 7. Reward Management 8. Research Methods 9. Dissertation You will be required to undertake a 20,000-word dissertation.
You will complete a 3,000-word assignment with accompanying presentation, five assignments of 4,000 words, one case study, one open-book 24-hour assessment and a dissertation of 20,000 words.
We recommend an average of 12-15 hours study time per week for this programme.
An undergraduate honours degree at a minimum of 2:2, plus at least two years professional full-time work experience. English ability to an IELTS score of 6.5 for overseas candidates who have not previously studied in English. Applicants who have substantial managerial experience and are able to demonstrate an ability to successfully complete the programme may be admitted where they do not possess degree equivalent qualifications.
