MSc Management and Organisational Innovation


Course Description

The global economic downturn has meant that businesses have to innovate to survive, and even the largest of companies needs to innovate to grow and develop. This programme is designed to deliver an advanced study of organisations, their management and the changing external context in which they operate. Core skills will allow you to get an overview of management structures, people, process knowledge management, operations, and process, then you will be able to specialise in an area of interest.

The School of Business and Management is rapidly building a strong reputation for our distinctive approach, in particular our focus on the inter-disciplinary nature of business and management. Facilities

You will have access to postgraduate only facilities which include the Lock-keeper's Cottage Graduate Centre dedicated solely to the use of graduate students in the faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, with the use of a common room and interdisciplinary training workshops.

You will also have access to Queen Mary's comprehensive libraries and The British Library can be accessed as a research resource.

QMUL-Chevening Scholarships - 20+ Awards

QMUL works closely with the Chevening - the UK government’s international scheme aimed at developing global leaders - to provide a large number of full scholarships for study on our one-year Masters courses.Every year QMUL hosts a large cohort of the 1500 Chevening Scholars who come to study at universities all over the UK. In 2016-17 we have a record of 87 scholars joining QMUL from countries across the globe!Chevening Scholarships are available for students from all nationalities.All Chevening awards cover full overseas tuition fees, as well as providing a stipend for living costs, air-fares, and a variety of other expenses.Chevening Scholars also benefit from a year-long programme of events helping you experience the best of British culture and to make the most of your time in the UK.There are two types of award on offer at QMUL:QMUL-Chevening Scholarships
A large number of these awards will be available across all one-year QMUL masters courses.QMUL-Chevening Partner Awards
In addition to the QMUL-Chevening Scholarships, QMUL also supports an additional seventeen QMUL-Chevening Partner Awards. These awards are for specific academic departments and for particular courses.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Chevening Award you must:
- Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country
- Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended
- Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry to a postgraduate programme at a UK university. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK
- Have at least two years’ work experience
- Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 13 July 2017

Application Procedure

Applications for all scholarships must be made directly to the Chevening: full details on how to apply are available on the Chevening’s webpages.In order to be considered for a QMUL-Chevening Partner Award, candidates are encouraged to place QMUL as their first choice university.The deadline for applications is Tuesday 8 November 12:00 GMT.Candidates should also apply for their chosen Masters programme at QMUL through our online portal in the normal way.Candidates are encouraged to QMUL as early as possible to ensure that their application can be processed in a time to meet the Chevening’s deadline for the confirmation of their unconditional university offer in July 2017.

QMUL is proud to be working in partnership with the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK to offer a wide range of scholarships for postgraduate study at Master’s and PhD level.In 2017-18 we will be hosting an unprecedented number of Commonwealth Scholars from across the globe.Commonwealth Scholarships at QMUL typically cover full overseas tuition fees, living costs, airfares, and a variety of other expenses. Scholars from developing and developed Commonwealth countries are eligible to apply for these awards.All candidates should apply to QMUL online following our normal application procedures (please be aware that candidates applying for a Commonwealth Scholarship may have an earlier application deadline than normal) and will also need to make an application directly to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission.The scholarships are available for all subject areas although courses must have a developmental relevance.

QMUL HESPAL Scholarships - Single Award

HESPAL aims to help create the next generation of senior academics who can maintain international quality standards at Palestinian universities and to develop renewed, sustainable links between Palestinian and UK universities.The Scheme will upgrade junior academic staff in Palestinian universities through a Masters Scholarship programme.Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) has one scholarship available, which covers Masters academic fees (in the form of a fee waiver from participating UK HEIs), a living allowance and pre-departure briefing. The scholarship is limited to a period of up to 12 months and cannot be extended beyond 12 months.The priority areas of study for Palestinian universities are likely to include (but are not limited to): Business, Economics and Finance; Educational Management; Political Sciences and International Relations; Human Rights and Governance; Agriculture; Engineering; Law; Management; Environmental Studies; Water Management; Nursing; TSOL; Human Resources; Economics; Literature; Linguistics; IT; Science programs; Environmental Sciences and Sustainable Infrastructure; Clean Energy and Conservation Strategies; MA Energy Management; Energy Conservation; Sustainable Energy; ICT; Nanotechnologies and Energy; Educational Technology; Special Educational Needs.For full details of the scholarship scheme, please visit the HESPAL website

Eligibility

- Applicant must be a resident citizen of Palestinian Territories.
- Applicant must be currently employed by the Palestinian university which nominates her/him, which must be one of the participating Palestinian universities.
- Applicant will have a Masters degree from a Palestinian university with a minimum grade of very good (and equivalent to at least a 3.0 Bachelor’s Degree from UK).
- Applicant must sign a written undertaking to return to Palestinian university within a time frame agreed with their university, normally one year.
- Applicant must have IELTS certification appropriate for course and university (normally at least 6.5, sometimes higher).

Application Procedure

- Applicants should complete the HESPAL application form in collaboration with their university, indicating which subject area(s) they wish to study. Applicants should specify at least three and up to to five UK HEIs in order of preference, but there is no guarantee they will be placed in one of these institutions.
- Submit the HESPAL application to the home university in Palestine with all supporting documents attached.
- Each applicant should submit an online application direct to each university that they wish to apply to and should attach a copy to the HESPAL application. The completed application forms and all other documentation must be submitted in hard copies to your university scholarship coordination office by 23 Janurary 2017.

A good upper second class honours degree or equivalent in any subject. Professional experience and expertise will also be considered.For non-native English speakers, IELTS 7.0 or equivalent, is required.
