MA Interior Architecture and Design


Course Description

This course develops the principles and techniques necessary for creating innovative design solutions to a range of problems.
It will challenge you across a wide range of projects from built structures, commercial projects, industry research or smaller design projects, all with an embedded relationship to interior space or practice.

This course:

• focuses on interior spatial interventions in the context of existing or new buildings
• develops advanced design, management and technical skills
• enables you to focus on areas of interest to you
• benefits from strong links with industry
• offers extensive opportunities to work on live design projects
• is available full-time and part-time

The course develops skilled professionals qualified to solve and manage complex problems related to interior architecture from advanced cultural, environmental and design perspectives. For example, these may be related to sustainable urban contexts and materials, technology, component design, architectural conservation, exhibition / museum design in the digital age or learning environments for the future.

This scholarship is for students who are currently studying at NTU on an undergraduate course, and want to progress to full-time Masters studies in the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment to start in September 2013. It is open to Home, EU and International students.

To be eligible you’ll need to meet the following criteria:• Apply for a 2013/14 full-time Masters course* in the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment by Friday 26 July 2013, and be offered a place on the course.• Achieve a minimum of a 2.1 honours degree at undergraduate level from NTU.*** This scholarship is not available for students applying to our March Architecture course. ** Exceptional candidates with alternative qualifications will be also considered.

This scholarship is for people who have graduated from NTU since 2008, and want to apply for a full-time Masters course in the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment to start their studies in September 2013.

This scholarship is for people who want to apply for one of the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment’s full-time Masters courses and don’t qualify for either our Progressing Students or Alumni (post-2008) scholarships. You must also be classed as either a Home or EU student to apply for this scholarship.Applicants will be assessed on their academic merit and the relevance of the statement on their scholarship application form.Please note: there are a limited number of these scholarships available.

To be considered for this award you’ll need to meet the following criteria:• have achieved a minimum of a 2.1 honours degree• be offered a place on one of the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment’s full-time Masters courses*, to commence your studies in September 2013• complete the scholarship application form and email it to us by Friday 28 June 2013• be classed as either a Home or EU student (this award is not open to International students).* This scholarship is not available for students applying to our March Architecture course.

Entry Requirements

A good honours degree in a relevant (cognate or semi-cognate) discipline, including: architecture, interior architecture, and building surveying. We welcome applications from mature applicants with non-standard qualifications who have relevant work experience. These applications will be considered on an individual basis. IELTS 6.5 or equivalent for overseas students.
