The Nottingham Business School Part Time Executive MBA is designed for working professionals, managers and leaders, designed to fit around your job and other commitments.

The two-year course has been structured to fit around your job and other commitments. Executive MBA students are typically in full-time employment and either fund themselves or are sponsored by their organisation.

Students find that the knowledge and understanding they gain throughout the Executive MBA course is immediately applicable to their organisation ensuring that both they and their employer benefit from the course.

Course content

At the start of the course, our Executive MBA development programme helps to prepare you for the challenges ahead. It includes intensive academic preparation for those who have been away from university for some years, as well as personal and professional development.

Phase One:
Forms the core of your studies, and is designed to give you an understanding of the philosophical basis of our MBA. It’s made up of a central Responsible and Sustainable Leadership module, plus four modules on fundamental management concepts.

Phase Two:
This phase includes three modules, beginning with Strategic Change and Consultancy, which includes a team-based live project. The remaining two modules enable you deepen your core knowledge or take a specialist route exploring the theory of constraints.

Phase Three:
In your final phase, you’ll have the opportunity to take on a live overseas consultancy project, go on an international study tour, hone your research skills and complete an in-depth research project.

Personal, Professional and Leadership Development Programme (PPLD)
Throughout your time with us, you’ll attend PPLD workshops, developing professional, strategic transferrable skills. Each workshop focuses on personal, professional or career development, spanning everything from emotional intelligence to creative job hunting and conflict resolution

The Executive MBA scholarships are competitive and to apply you are required to complete an application form and submit by email addressing the criteria outlined by 4pm on the 13 August 2010. Applicants are only eligible to apply for an Executive MBA scholarship once they have been made an offer to study on Nottingham Business School's Executive MBA for 2010 entry. All applications are subject to the specific terms and conditions for the Executive MBA Scholarship Scheme.

There will be either one full scholarship of £14,400 or two part scholarships of £7,200, depending on applications and the judgement of the panel, available to UK, EU and international students who have been offered a place to study on Nottingham Business School’s Executive Masters of Business Administration for 2010/11 entry.

Entry Requirements

Criteria for entry to MBA should normally include:  A first degree (normally 2:1) or an equivalent professional or academic qualification; A period of professional work experience – minimum three years, preferably five years; If your first language is not English you are required to pass a language proficiency test
