MA Games

Course Description

This innovative industry-focused programme combines the rigour of studying at Masters level, alongside the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills in a professional context. During your studies you will have the opportunity to work in a professional games studio by undertaking a paid postgraduate apprenticeship.

MA Games has been developed with the support of Creative Skillset in conjunction with games studios to build on the success of the University’s BA Games Art and Design degree course (the first games course by a specialist institution to receive Creative Skillset accreditation).

You will negotiate bespoke access to in-studio resources with a games studio as well as utilising the University’s industry-standard media lab facilities supported by academic and technical staff. You will develop your creative skills at an institution which has gained an international reputation for innovation, artistic excellence and quality graduates in games education. The course provides industry-standard resources in a facility which has been selected as one of 12 global partners in Sony’s PlayStation®First academic partnership programme.

Scholarship and funding information is available. Norwich will be taken over by a festival of contemporary art in key venues across the city in the summer of 2016, as one of four host cities for the 8th edition of the British Art Show. The biggest touring exhibition of contemporary art in the UK has selected Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) as its lead partner in Norwich. See NUA website for details: http://www.nua.ac.uk
