Course Description

About this course

This is a two year, part-time programme for those working in the Post Compulsory Sector (work-based learning, education community and voluntary sector, wider workforce). A programme of subject specific professional studies is offered by a range of highly professional and experienced lecturers; their aim is to develop students understanding of educational policy and procedures, teaching and learning theory and practice and planning, assessment and evaluation procedures. There are six modules each of 20 credit value, across the two years of the programme. Assessment is carried out through written assignments, observations of teaching practice, presentations and portfolio.

The programme supports those already working in the post compulsory sector to gain qualified status. It will support career development and progression within the sector.
